Fire stone

As I slowly walked up the icy mountain path a blizzard howled and tore at me trying ever trying to pull me from the rocky path and to my doom. Icicles hanging off my armor as I shuddered onwards. Thunder and lightning shattered the sky like a sledgehammer on glass. As I hoisted myself over the last ledge a sheer cliff appeared in front of me with a gaping cave mouth

Even in the below 0 temperature smoke poured out of the cave entrance and bellowed out into the howling wind. Deep rumbles emanated from within the cave deeps and the earth shook as if it was trying rid itself of a parasite. As I walked down into the cave a light started to glow up ahead and it started to get really hot. Steam curled on the floor where ice had melted and the water had evaporated. The heat intensified as I rounded a bend and before me was a hurge

cave with an equally huge lava lake in the middle of it, and far across the other wall curled up on a high cleft the very fiery beast I had searched for over 154 years Atomonoms!

We had first encountered years and years ago when I was just a simple hunter and had a happy

family. I was out hunting when a roar shook the sky as the gods themselves were thundering down and as I looked up a great red beast spurring fire from its mouth was heading for our house.

With my bow at the ready I raced after it cold fear crawling up my throat just as my wife's scream split the air!

As sprinted to my home worry was etched on my face and fear draped over me like a blanket.

As I appeared out of the undergrowth a horrific sight greeted my eyes. Our barn and home was filled with flames ,and as I scrambled in the through to our yard I howled to the moon and stars, as

scattered across courtyard was my dead wife and child .

After all those years of hunting I'd finally found out what I was looking for…...Atomos the dragon.

My relic armor that I'd found at a skeleton half way up the mountain, clacked against the floor,The snoring stopped! WHO DARES ENTER MY CAVE ATOMOS BOOMED!

I unslung my bow from my shoulders and stepped across to a rocky outcrop not far from the cleft. OH ALRIGHT THEN IF HIDE AND SEEK IS WHAT YOU WANT TO PLAY
I OBLIGE! With a great boom Atomos leapt off the cleft and crashed to the floor.COME OUT LITTLE RABBIT! I'M FEELING PECKISH. The dragon swung his tail and the stone outcrop next to me got obliterated. My body's instincts kicked into action. Like a jack in a box I popped up drew my bow and fired.

Ting!The arrow hit the scale part of his shoulder and deflected off into the lava. For a moment all was still. A growl emanated from atomos throat and he turned towards me.

Something in mind just simply said. Oh bother, That really went well! A thought stuck my head,maybe I should be running right now! Shattering it I gassed it as fast as I could go in amor towards the cave mouth.With a roar atomos set after me and as I turned and sprinted up the tunnel he let of a raging torrent of flames scorching my back giving of a smell of sulphur. I made it to the surface and started to climb even further up the mountain. It was hard going but knowing that there was a hungry dragon below gives anyone the energy. Finally I reached the peak and looked down. It was peaceful up here above the clouds, at least till the dragon emerged.

It flapped up towards me on powerful wings fire pouring out of its maw.My slightly singed hair blew across my face and with nowhere to run I sepped arond bow in hand ready for the fight of my life. Suddenly I felt it.The whole mountain had gone quit and even at atmos looked confused.

BOOM!Galeforss winds hit the mounten like a slege hammer on rock.It flatend me to the rock face mean while the was a giant crash as atonmos crumpled agasnst a wall of rock and brock his wing not far below me.Somehow I new this was going to be the only time is was going to able to strick aganst this beast so I jamed my feet in a gap between two large rocks and turned and made the best pot shot I ever done and emagied!

Taking extream care I pulled the arrow back to full draw took a deep breath and releashed.Like a slow mo missial it arched down just as the dragon shook itself and pointing it head up and emanating a growl.The fates must of smiled down at me because if Atonmos looked up he showed his one weak spot his eyes and reslishation dawend in his face as it went staright into left hand eye penatrating the socetet and the brain.With a final roar that shook the sky itself he tumbled backwards over the perapice and to his doom trailing fire all the way down!

After all those years I had my revenge even if I nearly died on the way.Even the mountains seemed to celebrate by echoing atomos final roar all around me.

Joy that I hadn't felt in years came to me in a rush and I gave a deep sigh.

My family had been avenged but still magic and potions could not help me now.

The wind had broken my legs and i knew i would not be able to make down the mountain.

The beast that had killed my wife was gone and I will finally see her again.

So with a smile on his face Will Saunders once a simple man now the hero that had killed the fiery atomos stepped over the edge of the precipice and back to his wife a family.
